Fair Trade baskets made by female artisans from Rwanda. They are made from natural fibers of sisal and sweet grass. The grass is soaked in water until the fibers become pliable. Then the grass is dyed using natural dyes from the surrounding areas and then hand woven to produce these colourful bowls. Handwoven piece of art containing a very intricate weaving patterns and use of very fine woven material from sisal and local sweet grass.
The hand sewn loop on the back allows the bowl to be hung on a wall and create an artwork.
Uses Of Rwanda bowls:
- Storage - such as fruit
- Wall décor - it includes a hang loop on the back
- Centerpiece on the table
Care Directions: Since this basket is made of natural fibers and grass, we DO NOT recommend submerging in water, or washing with water. If the basket becomes dirty, consider wiping it, or tending to dry cleaning methods.
